8 Hiking routes for autumn

Year after year, the different seasons we go through give the natural landscapes that surround us their special nuances, providing them in many occasions with a greater beauty that adds to the attractions that each place already has. Undoubtedly, many of these corners see how their appearance changes radically depending on the time of the year in which we find ourselves, causing waterfalls to sprout where before there was barely a trickle of water or painting the landscape with bright colors.

The white blanket of winter, the vigorous spring and the sunny summer, are eclipsed in a good number of places by the spectacular autumn landscapes that we can find in our forests and mountains. The Collados del Asón Natural Park, in Cantabria, is one of the many natural treasures to be found in this autonomous community. Its unique landscape of marked and abrupt relief, of colossal dolines, caves and chasms, as well as whimsical lapiaces or garmas, gives us beautiful landscapes such as the one we find in Collados del Asón or in Portillo de La Sía, being also home to various animal and plant species. Cantabrian holm oak or beech forests, among others, that fit between the steep walls of these mountains allow us to explore them in search of beautiful and hidden corners.

A landscape of contrasts, of vertical cliffs preceded by dense pine forests, dotted with huge beech trees that enlarge even more if possible the beauty of this place.
