In the foothills of the Sierra of the Urbión, in the heart of the Pinares region, more specifically in the woods that extend to the north of the town of Duruelo de la Sierra, a surprising place awaits us with, in general, easy access. Here nature has drawn a capricious landscape of unique rocks and rocks whose silhouettes remind us of an authentic enchanted city. A simple route will allow us to discover every corner of this natural enclave to which we can add the curious Serena Cave, another of the jewels of this region.

Of the many activities that we can do in the Natural Park of the Black Lagoon and the Urbión Glacier Circles, the mythical peak of the Muela of the Urbión, the roof of this region, is without a doubt the one that arouses the most interest. And to do so from the mysterious and beautiful Black Lagoon will be an experience we will remember for a lifetime. But we are not obliged to crown the, for many, longed-for summit. We will also be able to visit the legendary lagoon of dark waters without having to go up the colossal cliffs that mark it out.

Not far from the capital Soria, a natural spot awaits us, where the history of the people who inhabited these lands and nature merge. This natural space has become a very popular place for the inhabitants of Soria. There are several trekking routes that will take us through it, visiting for example the places where our ancestors made their cave paintings. The Raso of the Vega of Baturio or the House of the City are part of this network of paths of the Mount Valonsadero.

The Duero River, from its source in the Urbión mountain range, flows peacefully through the province of Soria, marking the lands through which it passes with its character. As it could not be otherwise, given its great importance, there is a Natural Way known as the Path of the Duero that from time immemorial followed its course joining the villages bathed by the river. A river, the Duero, which experienced the passage through these lands of the different civilizations that settled here and today leads us to visit some of its most important ancient sites as it does on its way through the towns of Garray and Soria.

Not far from the historic medieval town of Calatañazor, just a stone's throw from the magnificent Sabinar of Calatañazor, another little treasure of nature awaits us, the Natural Monument of the Fuentona. Through a conditioned path we will be able to enter this natural place while we follow the course of the river Abión until its birthplace, a singular water spring full of legends. Undoubtedly a landscape of singular beauty whose history and characteristics increase even more its natural importance.

Surely along with two or three other places, the Wolves River Canyon Natural Park is one of the best known and most visited natural areas in the province of Soria and even in the whole of Castile and Leon. The many hiking routes that run through it, such as the Path of the Gullurias, take us to visit its beautiful and legendary corners. The course of the river Wolves is crossed by a winding path that takes us to the famous Big Cave, located next to the Hermitage of San Bartolomé, one of the most photographed places in the whole park.

The wide plain of the plateau breaks with its characteristic landscape as you approach the Sierra of Ayllon, in the south of the province of Soria.
