Did you know that... A Brea

And As Ras are two villages that belong to the parish of San Miguel de Cerceda, one of the thirteen that make up the council of O Pino, located in central Galicia, south southeast of the province of A Coruña. From its origin we know, from the archaeological remains found, that it is lost at the dawn of history. In the place of A Granxa, belonging to the parish of Cerceda, Roman remains have been found. As Ras is a typical aldeiña like many of those that are in the French Way, immediately appears A Brea, whose name indicates sidewalk, that is a nucleus of something greater population.

To discover What to see in A Brea?

In A Brea you can see a monolith commemorating a pilgrim who died on the Way of Saint James. Very close to A Brea there is a recently built cross, year 2005. The parish church of San Miguel de Cerceda, of neoclassical style, is a small, but no less beautiful, rural church.

Festivities

A Brea and As Ras celebrate the patron saint festivities of the parish of San Miguel de Cerceda on 29 September in honour of San Miguel, in addition to participating with the rest of the municipality in fairs and common festivities. They also celebrate Corpus Christi.

As Ras and A Brea are next to the N-547 that joins Santiago de Compostela and Lugo and it is on this road where you will find the accesses that lead to these two villages.

By bus

The parish of San Miguel de Cerceda, to which As Ras and A Brea belong, has a metropolitan bus service every day of the week that connects it with nearby towns and Santiago. Also the regular transport service that covers the route Santiago-Lugo every day of the week and in different schedules, has stop in A Brea, San Miguel.

By train

The closest train station to A Brea is Santiago de Compostela.

By airplane

The nearest airport is Lavacolla in Santiago.
