At the exit of Arzúa following the route jacobea we leave to the pass, and along with the villages of A Peroxa, As Quintas and A Calzada, all belonging to the parish of San Vicenzo de Burres, are part of the council of Arzúa and are located to the west of it. A Calzada is the last population centre of the municipality of Arzúa through which the Way of Saint James passes and is just six kilometres from the capital of the council.
In Pregontoño you can contemplate the hermitage of San Paio, from the 18th century, which has a small portico supported by two columns and is surrounded by a beautiful forest. Walking through meadows and crops and with your eyes still on Arzúa you reach A Peroxa. The walk along the tracks, among forests of oaks, eucalyptus and pines, typical inhabitants of the Galician landscape, enjoying its shelter and its aroma, and crossing streams like Ladrón, bring the visitor to the places of As Quintas and A Calzada, a village in which the pilgrim will say goodbye to Arzúa.
The parish of Burres celebrates its festivities on the 23rd of January in honour of San Vicenzo and on the 26th of June it celebrates San Pelayo.
The N-547 that joins Santiago de Compostela and Lugo is where we will find the accesses that lead to Pregontoño, A Peroxa, As Quintas and A Calzada, more specifically it is shortly after leaving Arzúa in the direction of Santiago de Compostela where these roads are located that link the national road with each village.
