It is located to the south of the mountains that form Los Ancares, halfway between Villafranca del Bierzo, Pieros and Cacabelos. It is a small village, belonging to the municipality of Villafranca del Bierzo, surrounded by vineyards and sketches of chestnut trees, oaks, holm oaks, pines ... that lend their palette of colors to the landscape giving different shades depending on the time of year.

Traditions

In many villages of the Bierzo the traditional magostos are celebrated. This festival, in which the tasty Bierzo chestnut is worshipped, takes place in November.

Get to Valtuille de Arriba by car

To get to Valtuille de Arriba we have to follow the LE-713 that joins Ponferrada with Villafranca del Bierzo, where we will find the accesses to this town in the stretch that goes from Cacabelos to Villafranca del Bierzo, more specifically shortly after passing through Pieros as we go towards Villafranca del Bierzo. These same roads connect Valtuille de Arriba with San Clemente and with Valtuille de Abajo among others.

By bus

From Valtuille de Arriba you have to go to the nearby Villafranca del Bierzo to access the daily bus service that connects it with Ponferrada, León and Lugo.
