It is 43 km from Logroño and 1.4 km from Cirueña. Surrounded by extensive plains that gradually descend to the north. In the writings it appears mentioned for the first time with the name of Cironia, in the 972, but it is a century later, when Cirinnuela is quoted, more similar to the current Ciriñuela, that will appear in a document of Alfonso VII and later in documents of the Catholic Kings.
In 1766, the Marquis of Plum was mentioned in a document, which had the power, among others, to appoint mayor, alderman and syndicate in the town of Plum. In the Cathedral of Santo Domingo he ordered the construction of a chapel that would serve as a burial place for him and his family.
The parish church of San Millán de Ciriñuela, has undergone several renovations in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, has a rococo altarpiece of the eighteenth century and its head is the sixteenth century.
Ciriñuela celebrates La Candelaria, on February 2, with mass, chocolate, costumes, dances... Thanksgiving is celebrated on the Saturday closest to 16 September, with a procession.
Ciriñuela and Cirueña are connected by the road LR-409. Cirueña is reached by the LR-204, this road connects Cirueña with Santo Domingo de la Calzada and in this same direction is the detour towards the LR-326 that communicates it with the N-120 and the motorway of the Way, A-12. Following the LR-204, but in the other direction we arrive at the town of Villar de Torre, a town near Berceo and San Millán de la Cogolla.
Cirueña has a bus service from Monday to Friday, with the Rural line of the Government of La Rioja.
