It is situated next to the municipality of Aguilar del Río Alhama to which it belongs and from which it is 1 km away. It is the southernmost town in La Rioja and borders on the province of Soria. Inestrillas has a long history, whose origins are lost in time, was a typical town of the high Middle Ages that retains in its cliff, some semi-excavated housing and remains of a fortification.
Inestrillas is a locality of unquestionable beauty and great historical significance, with clear remains of Arab culture and Moorish constructions attached to the mountain.
If Inestrillas is old in time, so is the town, which the locals call Clunia and whose origins lead us to the Neolithic, Contrebia Leucade. The parish church, from the 16th century and curiously attached to the mountain; the hermitage of San Antonio, baroque; and the Virgen del Prado hermitage, also baroque, which is close to the oldest Icnitas archaeological site in La Rioja; all this together with its natural values, such as the Alcarama mountain range, the Añamaza reservoir, the Alhama and Añamaza meadows, and the Green Way, ensure a heritage of unquestionable value.
The patron saint fiestas, on 8 September, Virgen de La Natividad, are celebrated on the last weekend in August.
The pilgrimage to the hermitage of the Virgen de los Remedios, on the first Saturday in May. On this day are traditional the bodigos, bread stuffed with egg and chorizo.
Raquel Meller, 1888-1962, one of the most important singers of her time, although born in Tarazona, spent her childhood and youth in Inestrillas where her mother was born.

To get to Inestrillas, take the LR-284 road that connects Cervera del Río Alhama with Aguilar del Río Alhama.
In the nearby town of Aguilar del Río Alhama we find the stop of the interurban transport line, which connects Arnedo with Aguilar. There are also bus services with Tudela, Calahorra and Alfaro but only on weekdays.
